Wow, and a challenge for me (who feels very green in more than the environmental sense!) to come up with tips for writing, when I’m finding my way, too.

Hey, thanks! My ears are burning (cheeks, too). I mean, I’m honored. I have a real phobia toward blog memes, but I’ll think about whether I have any useful tips for writers beyond the four you’ve already listed. After all, too much advice can be a bad thing for someone just starting out, and one can’t get more basic or essential than these four things you’ve listed.

As a writer, I can attest that all these tips are very true (But don’t look at my blog — I ramble there; I don’t write). I love Dave Bonta’s blogs, and I’ve also read your daughter’s blog — she is very talented! I will check out the others! You should venture into print publishing – nature writing is very “big” right now.
