Enjoy a Flowery Friday… some images from a damp evening walk:
Violets (I’m guessing: Common Blue and Northern White?? Violets are too plentiful and hard to identify…)
Oops! That’s not a Flower! Red Eft

In addition to those pictured, I also saw the following:

-
False Hellabore – leaves
-
Canada Mayflower – leaves and buds

-
Colt’s Foot – going to seed, some small leaves up
-
Running Strawberry Bush – buds
-
Yellow Mandarin (a.k.a. Fairy Bells) – leaves and buds
-

Where? Jamestown Community College – College Park – south side of the creek. Hope to visit the north side today!
I saw your pictures on Flickr last night and wondered how you were going to present them. Nice set of pictures. I am going on a guided wildflower walk tomorrow morning and hopefully will learn to ID more than the standard spring flowers.
WOW! It’s the first of May and look what you saw. Beautiful pictures. Are you a “reluctant botanist” too?
haha… not the least bit reluctant about botany! (no expert either…)
Okay, that Eft is just about the coolest little critter ever. And the skunk cabbage is just gorgeous. Thanks for the beautiful photos!
A great collection of photos! The eft is gorgeous, and I envy the Jack-in-the-pulpit, something we don’t have in this area.
The lushness of the photos is wonderful! So spring-like!
