The moon has always held a great fascination for me. It’s many phases, appearances, and disappearances. Approaching close, then moving off. Constant in its inconstancy.
Last night the moon was closer to earth than it has been in over twenty years or will be for another couple of decades. The experts say it appeared 14% bigger and 30% brighter.
Hmmm….
Nice photo, Jen !!! Care to reveal your camera settings? My photos turned out looking like…. well, the sun at night !! LOL
I used my Canon Powershot A1000 IS for this shot. I put it on “Night Snapshot” setting and turned the flash off. It’s not a super high quality result… not like some of the amazing shots I’ve seen on Flickr! But it’s not bad…
P.S. I had to mess with the brightness and contrast a little…
This photo is beautiful!
The moon has always held a deep fascination in me as well. I think of Father Sun, Mother Moon native American reflections; as well as how it’s had a pull on people of all cultures around the world. It was astonishingly beautiful the other night!!
It didn’t look bigger really when I went outside last week. Maybe it is my eyes 🙂
