We had a great, if a bit chilly, day at bird banding. Here are some of the birds we caught, banded, and released:
The ever observant Terry LeBaron also noticed a Song Sparrow fly up out of the grass, then went over with his camera:
He found the nest!
It’s always fun at bird banding.
I’d like to be there to watch but not hold the birds. I’d be afraid that I’d squeeze them too tightly.
I didn’t know song sparrows were ground nesters.
So jealous and what fun. What a great thing to get to photograph as well. Someday I want to partake.
Great photos — so nice to see an up-close photo of some of these birds.
Beautiful Photos!! I think it would be so cool to be a part of banding birds!
